The molecular technology in Tessident uses a multi-pronged approach called Selective Microbial Metabolism Regulation Technology (SMMRT) to regulate oral ecology for dental health:
- Stops sugar conversion into harmful by-products – A key ingredient in our formula is a sugar-decoy molecule that blocks sugar receptors and plaque-making enzymes, ultimately starving bacteria and leading to plaque breakdown.
- Encourages bacteria toward more health-promoting behaviors – Our second molecule enables protein metabolism capabilities in bacteria, which produces health-promoting and protective by-products produced by bacteria. They provide you with essential nutrients, metabolize indigestible compounds, defend against colonization of opportunistic harmful bacteria, stimulate the immune system and contribute to overall health.
- Neutralizes saliva acidity – Sodium bicarbonate is used to bring saliva to a safe pH range for up to three hours. This allows for the calcium carbonate in the formula to re-mineralize teeth and strengthen enamel.
